Good Morning, LogHeads! We apologize for the dust as we get settled into our new blog-home and welcome you to grab a cup of coffee and join us here on what we think of as our front porch; a place to gather among friends and chat about the the latest in rustic home decor and log furniture.
First, I'll start by introducing myself: I'm Amanda and I'll be your hostess here. I'm a long-time Rocky Top fan, writer, photo stylist and home decor blogger. I love a good do-it-yourself project which is what attracted me to Rocky Top in the first place. With their extensive selection of unfinished northern white cedar log furniture, you get to be part of the design process, which to me, is so exciting. On the flip side, if you aren't so handy or just don't have the time, the fine folks at Rocky Top will take care of everything for you. That to me is good, old come-as-you-are-hospitality and a business like that is one I want to support which is why I'm here!
From day to day, you can expect to find tips from the pros, insider peeks at the design process, tutorials on how to treat and care for your log furniture, loads of decorating advice to help you achieve an oh-so-cozy rustic vibe in your home or business and of course, some stories about the characters behind-the-scenes who are working hard to build these soon-to-be heirloom pieces of log furniture. Basically, we're going to have a lot of fun and if you're not a Loghead yet, you're going to be soon!
Before I go, I thought I'd share with you the piece of furniture that made me a LogHead-for-life. This is my new, Kentucky Double Log Rocker. Sure, I dream of having a lovely wrap-around porch with a lake-view but for now, this cedar log rocker brings a little rustic joy to my suburban nest. I haven't stained her yet but that's a project for next week! Until tomorrow, fellow LogHeads.
