Setting a Rustic Table with Natural Items
Hey, LogHeads! Can you believe Thanksgiving is nearly a month away? We can almost smell the turkey and bourbon sweet potatoes now! If you're lucky enough to have a beautiful fall day like the one we're having here in Kentucky, take a walk and start collecting some natural items to incorporate into your rustic holiday table setting. Here's a few ideas to get you started!
Logs and Fallen Branches:
Create a rustic and whimsical setting like this one, which would be a perfect way to display your favorite jars. You can also collect fallen twigs and glue them to a votive candle for a pretty and woodsy addition to your table.

Natural Beauty
Here at the Rocky Top blog, we've praised the wonderful, natural characteristics of Northern White Cedar many times. Strong yet lightweight, resistant to decay and stunningly beautiful, it's the perfect choice for crafting rustic, heirloom-quality furniture. It's no wonder that so many of our clients want to keep the natural characteristics of the wood rather than choosing a colored stain. For those folks, we offer the four-step professional Rocky Top finish which brings out the natural wood tones
of each piece of indoor furniture and railing. Every knothole and every
wood grain shines to perfection.
The process involves sanding each part of the furniture four times with a fine grade, 300-grit sandpaper and applying a primer, two coats of lacquer and finally a sealer. It’s a lengthy process but the result is a beautiful finish that’s guaranteed to last for years. The beauty and durability of the Rocky Top finish make it perfect for both high traffic, high-use pieces, as well as showcase pieces that will draw attention.
