Rustic Entertaining

Cedar Log Bar from Rocky Top Log Furniture

Entertaining guests in style doesn't have to be a headache. With our Cedar Log Bar and these easy tips, you can easily create a laid-back atmosphere for your next gathering! Here's our tips for stocking your log bar for easy entertaining:

1. Get the right equipment

Stock your log bar with a few simple but hard-working bar essentials. You'll need:

• Ice bag
• Bar spoon
• Muddler
• Jigger
• Cocktail shaker
• Strainer
• Blender
• Ice cube trays

2. Choose the right glassware

Start off with six to eight glasses of the basic types of glassware. You'll need a set of short glasses, tall glasses and stem glasses.

3. Build your foundation collection

You will be able to make almost any cocktail with these items in stock:

• Cognac
• White Rum
• Gin
• Bourbon
• Vodka
• Tequila
•  Cointreau
• Red Vermouth
• White Vermouth
• Bitters 

4. Plan non-alcoholic offerings

It's a good idea to offer a few non-alcoholic options for your guests other than a can of soda. Before a party, pick up a few fruit juice offerings to mix with seltzer water. 

5. Offer self-serve snacks

Avoid missing out on conversation with your guests by setting out some simple, self-serve snacks like spiced nuts.

Boulder Crest Retreat for Wounded Warriors

This season as we gather with friends and loved ones, it is with grateful hearts that we remember the sacrifices of the men and women serving our country. And not only do we lift them up but also their families, who are often overlooked for the many sacrifices they make. That is why we are so honored to work with Boulder Crest Retreat for Wounded Warriors to furnish their brand new rustic retreat in Bluemont, Virginia which will serve as a getaway for wounded soldiers and their families. At Boulder Crest, these honorable men and women will have an opportunity to work on everything from securing housing to remedying financial woes with their families nearby.

It was a great honor to host Technical Sergeants Joseph Deslauriers and Adam Popp here in our manufacturing facility in Bryantsville, Kentucky and work with Boulder Crest Retreat Chairman and founder, Ken Falke on log furniture plans. We will be building special log furniture adapted to the abilities of these wounded heroes and others like them. Here at Rocky Top, we take great care to not only build your heirloom-quality log furniture but also to get it safely to your home or place of business. Here's a quick overview of how our shipping processes work. For more information, don't hesitate to give us a call at 1-800-332-1143!

A majority of our furniture is pre-assembled prior to shipping. To mention a few, we pre-assemble headboards and footboards for beds, seats and backs for chairs and rockers, table tops, and even our railing sections. This is for your convenience and to save you time.

Rocky Top takes great pride to be sure your items are packaged well before shipment. In taking these extra pre-cautions, we help to ensure the safest delivery possible for your furniture and/or railing. When your order has been shipped you will be called so that you can make the proper arrangements for your delivery.
A majority of our items will ship via freight carrier. Due to the volume of shipping that we do annually and the fact our shipping is freight collect, Rocky Top receives a substantial discount with our shipping carrier. This discount will then be passed on to you, insuring you the lowest shipping rates possible.
There are two different options when it comes to shipping your order, with Option 1 offering the greatest discount:

Option 1

Place of Business in a Commercial Area OR to the Nearest Shipping Terminal
Shipping to either of these locations will save you money. If going to a terminal nearest you, the shipping company will call to let you know that it has arrived. It is the customer's responsibility to make arrangements to pick up the order in an appropriate time frame.
Note: A business in a home is not considered a Place of Business in a Commercial Area.

Option 2

Residential
Shipping your item to a home in a residential area. In this option, the shipping company will call you to set up an appointment for your residential delivery. The freight company has an additional charge for a residential delivery.

IMPORTANT

Upon receiving your order, it is very important that you inspect all furniture and/or railing for any possible damages or missing items. If you do notice that something is damaged or missing, this MUST be noted on your delivery receipt. If this should happen, please contact Rocky Top immediately and we will take all necessary steps to insure that your product will be redelivered as soon as possible.
